Purpose
The purpose of this programme is to enable learners to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing the knowledge and skills of first aid, working at heights, manual handling, fire awareness, sea survival and in case of an emergency, to be able to evacuate, rescue and provide appropriate first aid to casualties.
Programme
The programme instructs and assesses the knowledge, skills and attitudes for the following GWO Training Modules, aligned to ASQA.
Units of Competency Standards as follows:
- RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights
- PUASAR022 – Participate in rescue operations
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID011 – Perform First Aid
- HLTWHS005 – Conduct manual tasks safely
- PUAFER008 – Confine small emergencies in a facility
Note:
HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid.
These 2 units have an online component and MUST be completed prior to the start of the GWO course. Learners will be sent an email with the link and how to log in once booking is confirmed.
On successful completion of the course your WINDA ID will be updated and the below Australian Units of Competency issued.
