CSQ Funding
- Construction Skills Queensland is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees and career seekers in the building and construction industry.
- CSQ provides funding to reduce the financial obstacle to training, making upskilling an affordable option for many more individuals in the construction industry.
- CSQ-funded training is delivered by a range of selected registered training organisations (RTOs) across Queensland.
- CSQ contributes towards the cost of courses to reduce the cost to participants. CSQ funding is paid directly to the contracted RTO, generally between 75% and 100% of course costs.

- You must be enrolled and completed training between 01 October 2025 and 30 September 2026.
- A maximum of 8 short courses are available per person.
- A maximum of 3 high risk work and mobile plant operator (MPO) units are available per person.
VHA_CSQ Documentation Required
- You must be either
- (a) an eligible worker within the Building and Construction industry; or
- (b) an unemployed eligible worker who has been unemployed for not greater than 6 months, who would otherwise meet the requirements of an eligible worker.
- Proof that you are either
- (a) Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
- (b) a permanent resident of Australia.
- (c) a participant who has the right to work & study in Australia on a visa & has been employed in the Queensland Building & Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more.
- You must also either
- a) permanently reside in Queensland; or
- b) be permanently employed in Queensland.
- You must not be funded by an authority or such other sources for the courses you are wanting to undertake. Excepting, a participant whose employer is a local council who is undertaking roles which would ordinarily be considered and Eligible Worker.
- You must not be a contracted Trainer and Assessor or existing worker of an RTO.
- You must not be currently enrolled in a Queensland Secondary School program (excluding school-base Apprentice and Trainees).
- You must not be completing training as a refresher, unless the course is identified as approved for refresher training, or seeking to undertake a verification of competency (VOC).
- Regions include – Central Queensland, Gold Coast, Greater Brisbane, Mackay Whitsundays, Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, and Darling Downs Toowoomba
Funding is not confirmed until all relevant documentation and supporting evidence has been received, reviewed and approved by a VHA staff member.
Once training is confirmed VHA’s cancellation policy will be enforced for non attendance.
Notification of cancellation or postponement of training must be made in writing.
- Confirmed training cancelled or postponed by the client within three to five business days of the course commencement date will be invoiced at 50% of the agreed course fee.
- Training cancelled or postponed by the client within two business days of the course will be invoiced at the full quoted rate plus any associated costs e.g. accommodation/flights booked, rental vehicles etc.,
- No cancellation fee is charged if notice has been given 6 or more working days in advance.
- CSQ training cancellation will incur the full cost of the VHA pricing schedule, in accordance with our cancellation policy.
