First Aid Responder Course

The training is relevant to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Purpose

This course delivers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

First Responder First Aid Course

Vertical Horizonz Australia First Aid Course develops the necessary skills to act quickly and effectively to accidents and emergencies. Our training is invaluable to trainees to perform first response techniques in the workplace, in public, or at home.

This course trains learners in a practical way the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in the workplace. Learners will be trained in their responsibilities as first-aid responders. We offer courses in Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel, as well as First Aid and CPR.

They will be trained to recognise the signs and symptoms of a number of medical emergencies, assess a casualty and respond in appropriate ways, following the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. The use of CPR and an automated external defibrillator (AED) is embedded into the training.

First Aid course content includes:

• Wound treatment
• Heart complications – chest pain to respiratory arrest
• Obstructed airways
• Burns -1st, 2nd and 3rd-degree 
• Fractures – Mild to severe
• Poisoning – chemicals, bites, stings and drugs 
• Injury treatment
• Shock – electrical, biological and physiological
• Loss of blood
