GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher
Vertical Horizonz Australia GWO Basic Safety Training and Refreshers ensure trainees are trained adequately to work safely and competently in the wind industry.
The approved GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) refreshes, reviews and builds on participants existing skills and tools obtained during BST Module courses, which include Fire Awareness, First Aid, Working at Heights, and Manual Handling Modules.
On successful completion of the BST-R your WINDA ID will be updated.
Purpose
The aim of BST-R is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills from BST through theoretical and practical training. This BSTR training shall enable participants to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing the knowledge and skills of first aid, working at heights, manual handling, fire awareness.

Australian Units of Competency
At the successful completion of your training the below Australian Units of Competency will be issued.
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID011 – Participate in rescue operations
- HLTWHS005 – Conduct manual tasks safely
- PUAFER008 – Confine small emergencies in a facility
